i heard of the "aurora" jet that goes at mach 6 but its only a rumor/myth

The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird has flown at a top speed of at least Mach 3.2, and it holds several records. There's also the X-15, which also broke several records for speed, but that was a rocket-powered aircraft, launched from the wing of a B-52, it was not designed to take off using its own power.
